Non-cash prize tournaments – the 2011 was

The scene of the cash prize tournaments is more alive today than ever. A review of the best tournament series, the Movers and Losers and the most important moments of the year. A guest post by Achim Scot.

A particular species of the poker scene which is rarely mentioned in annual retrospectives, although it is the largest poker in the German countryside. Without doubt, belonged in 2011, the cash prize tournaments among the big winners in business. Weekly vendors align tournaments throughout the country, with an entry fee between € 10, – attract thousands of players at the tables – and € 50. Every month they are on the hunt for prices ranging from beverage voucher for a trip to Las Vegas.

Were there a few years ago but a vast number of vendors, there has been in recent months, the market is regulated, and few have defied the critics and the arbitrary authority. The remaining operators experienced a tremendous inflow and players can generate more and larger prize pools, with the participation of 200 players and more already beyond the € 5000, – lie.

DVD player, toaster or key chains are long since history, travel, or participate in attractive tournaments in Europe or regional casinos in the vicinity of the host are required.

The quality

Of course we should be divided about the quality of the players or the aspect that every vendor wants to make money. Ultimately, the offer is always in the foreground, and everyone decides for himself whether he wants to play a tournament here and it’s all about the fun or for competition.

The poker league is without doubt one of the largest operators in Germany. Almost every state is now covered by tournament managers, and the Tournament Calendar offers players the choice is yours. PBL offers daily tournaments on the hunt for ranking points or prizes. But the competitors have gained in quality and prestige.

Regardless of whether the “Las Vegas Series”, “poker pioneer” or “German poker days”, they all have a large fan base every week and can come up with subscriber numbers from 60-100 players. The response will not be torn down next year, and this is a good thing for the German poker scene.
The scandal

And if the price is fixed scene is rocked by a scandal like the 01.10.2011 in Düsseldorf at the Club7Poker live tour, then there is indeed an outcry from the community, a decline in the number of players because they do not really registered.

More than 1,000 players had come to the Maritim at Dusseldorf Airport to see on Day 2, the nearly 9 million chips during the tournament were also brought into circulation. After days of searching, a floorman, who was also a player, and identified as the mastermind behind a responsible tournament manager.

After the disqualification of the player and the termination of the employee can only hope that the scene has learned from this and recognizes the value of organization and security of these tournaments. A priority, every player has the right and the government and outside casinos.
Conclusion

Also in casinos could participate again in 2011 on large cash prize tournaments. In the western group game play, for example, had the opportunity to for months qualifications for the grand finale on 16 to 18.12.2011. Even for € 50, – you could secure a ticket to the finals. In addition to the cash payout, it was primarily the main prize, which made the tournament for non-cash prize event. A brand new Porsche Cayman was waiting for the winner, and that price and the revised structure attracted more participants than for Hohensyburg in recent years.

The conclusion and climax of each year is traditionally the cash prize in the German scene of Poker championship bracelet dar. Bundesliga from 28-29.12 1,000 players are expected in Leipzig at the big end of season play. Who is the Master of the Amateurs? We are here on a detailed report in the first days of 2012.
